On 18 August, we awarded the annual Paul Green Sporting Bursary in partnership with the Green family. Amanda Green presented the perpetual trophy and $500.00 bursary to the 2025 recipient, Annelies from 6W. Congratulations, Annelies!

Paul Green, a past student of Gumdale State School, was a former NRL player, and coached the North QLD Cowboys to an NRL premiership and was the former QLD State of Origin Coach. The Paul Green Oval was named in his honour. The bursary is awarded to a student for sporting excellence, recognised potential and outstanding sportsmanship in their chosen sport. This student always upholds the Gumdale State School value of Always Our Best.
