Sporting Opportunities
At Gumdale State School, we’re committed to offering a broad range of sporting opportunities to suit every student. Whether through specialist programs such as sailing, or engaging and inclusive groups like Run Club, we strive to create a supportive environment that encourages all students to get involved. We’re continually proud of the excellent attitude, behaviour, and sportsmanship our students show, celebrating their achievements both within school and in wider competitions.
Signature Sport
The Year 4s have been enjoying a variety of Signature Programs every Wednesday afternoon. Students have been taking part in equestrian, touch football, netball, karate, futsal, optical rifle, and coding and robotics. These programs have provided wonderful opportunities for students to learn new skills, stay active and have fun with their peers.

Congratulations to River, who competed at the National All Styles Queensland Championships. River had an outstanding performance, winning gold in 3 of his 4 events. He will head to Melbourne later this year to defend his National Title.

Osprey Touch Football Competition
What an incredible day it was for our Gumdale students at the Osprey Touch Football competition, hosted at Wellington State High School. Despite the heat, our teams brought their A-game, showing grit, teamwork, and determination from start to finish.
The boys team fought hard throughout the day and were rewarded with a well earned third place, taking out the bronze medal playoff in style. The girls team delivered a thrilling performance, making it all the way to the gold medal match. In a nail-biting finish, they narrowly went down by just one try, proudly finishing as runners-up.
Congratulations to all students involved; your effort, sportsmanship, and team spirit were outstanding.
A massive thank you and shoutout to Susan Moore for her dedication and countless hours spent coaching the girls each week. Your hard work and commitment are truly paying off, and we’re so grateful for all you do.
Go Gumdale!
