Bonjour

Bonjour tout le monde (Hello everyone),

This term in French, Year 6 students are exploring the question “What do my interests say about me?”

LOTE.jpg

They are discussing their leisure activities and personal interests, while also discovering the favourite pastimes of children in French-speaking countries. Whether it’s playing pétanque in the park, sketching scenes of the Seine, or chatting about tasty French snacks, students will compare these hobbies with their own—like backyard cricket matches or beach adventures.

This rich cultural comparison helps students sharpen their critical thinking and communication skills, while fostering empathy and respect for different ways of life. Through this cross-cultural exchange, our young learners begin to recognise shared human experiences and celebrate the uniqueness of diverse communities.

Through engaging with international interests in this way, students develop a stronger sense of global awareness, curiosity about new traditions, and an appreciation for cultural diversity. They learn to value their own identities while respecting and celebrating the uniqueness of others, building the foundation for thoughtful, open-minded global citizens.

Amities,

Monsieur John Kato
