GROW Well
Over the last several weeks, our Prep-Year 2 students have been exploring the Character Strength of Forgiveness. It can be hard to forgive others, especially when they don’t apologise, but forgiving others allows us to let go of bad feelings and move forward positively.
When we are looking for forgiveness from someone we have wronged, an apology is the best first step. A genuine apology means giving the person our full attention, apologising for the wrongdoing, offering a way to make amends and genuinely telling the person that it won’t happen again.

Culminating Activity
As part of our 90th Birthday celebrations this term, each student created their own ‘bright spot’ from their time at Gumdale State School. We used these to create a huge ‘GROW’ on the back wall of the hall in our GROW Well colours. These bright spots included so many wonderful experiences that have been had at our great school; from sailing lessons to signature programs to lunchtime clubs to achieving learning goals to favourite teachers to camps to best friends. There is so much to celebrate and it is so inspiring to see all the great memories and experiences our students gather being a part of our school.
